ROBIN HOUSES: The American Robin is the most well known member of the Thrush Family, which also includes the Veery, Swainson's Thrush, Hermit Thrush, Wood Thrush, and also the rare Bicknell's and Gray-cheeked Thrush. Thrushes are known for their flute-like song. The song of the American Robin is first heard in early April, and is welcomed as a sign of spring. The Robin differs from all other North American thrushes in that it has adapted well to urban growth. As a result, it can be found in towns, parks, suburbs, and rural areas. Typically the individual birds return to the same nesting site each year, with males usually returning to their birthplace.

NESTING PERCH
(9-1/2"h x 9-1/4"w x 8-1/2"d)
Some species of birds prefer an open-front box. Song sparrows, catbirds, thrashers, phoebes, robins and barn swallows like to raise their families in a platform nest. This simple perch may be placed under the eaves, inside a garage or barn, or on the side of a building. It offers protection from elements and requires no maintenance. Suitable for Gray Catbirds (Dumetella carolinensis), American Robins (Turdus migratorius) and Barn Swallows (Hirundo rustica).
